Margot Kässmann, the head of the Evangelical Church in Germany was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after allegedly testing at 3 times the legal limit.
Kässmann pulled over after running a red light in her VW in Hanover.
State prosecutor Jürgen Lendeckel reportedly commented that Kässmann was was “absolutely unfit to drive.”
“I am alarmed at myself at having made such a bad mistake,” she commented
“I am aware of how dangerous and irresponsible drunk driving is. I will of course face up to the legal consequences.”
This once again goes to show that there is no group or class of people that are exempt from drinking and driving.
